Natural Products: Apollo Magna
Apollo Magna is a 6 or 12mm thick solid surface material, produced from a mixture of resins, dyes and natural minerals and mounted on chipboard to produce a 34mm thick surface.
Solid surface as a material is produced from a mixture of resins, dyes and minerals. This composition means it is not as durable as natural stone products, but it is much more versatile, and can be easily maintained and repaired.
Here, we will explore the features and constraints of the veined surfaces within the Apollo Magna range.

Properties of Veined Magna Worktops
Drainer Grooves
Drainer grooves and recessed drainers will each show a continuation of the same veined pattern. As the colouration is three-dimensional, drainer groove configurations will show a distortion in any straight-line veins on the top surface.
Joints
Apollo Magna as a material is capable of seamless joints. Veined patterns will however have a distinct discontinuation at the point where two sections meet. For L-Joints, veining will likely show a change in direction.
Slab Size Limitations
Maximum sheet sizes are 3050×600 for worktops, 3000×600 for Splashbacks, 3050×100 for Upstands or 1800×900 for breakfast bars. Designs which exceed these measurements may require a joint.
Adhesives
Please not that the adhesives for Apollo Magna, while colour matched to a degree, are not intended to be either an exact match, nor visible after a successful installation. Video guidance on correct installation can be found on our Youtube channel.
