Senior Despatch Operative

Job Type: Permanent/Full Time

Location: Normanton, West Yorkshire

Salary: Competitive / negotiable dependent upon skills/experience + overtime + production bonus scheme (non-contractual)

Hours: 39 hours per week Monday to Thursday 6.30am – 3.30pm, Friday 6.30am – 11.30pm

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Despatch Operative on day shift in the Despatch area to expand our current team. Reporting to the Despatch Cell Leader the successful candidate will assist in the general Goods out / Despatch operation and to support the Despatch Cell Leader, ensuring all aspects of the operation run smoothly to meet quality standards and deadlines.

Key Duties will include;

· Collecting and loading finished goods form Production onto trollies and A frames and transporting to Despatch area

· Work from Process Planning Sheets to ensure all items of order are stacked on A Frame ready for Despatch

· Preparing & checking off jobs on A frame match and are in accordance with Despatch Checklist on the

Process Planning Sheet

· Wrapping the modular products e.g. Magna, Slab tech, Timber

· Packing bespoke worktops to quality standards

· Sign off and completing paperwork PPS to account for every action conducted when moving stock

· Direct loading of vehicles using Scissor Lift

· Ability to work from Delivery Schedule to ensure all jobs are despatched on time

· Use Despatch Log to locate all stock within Despatch Area

· Covering Despatch Cell Leader as and when required

· Inspecting worktops after process to ensure there is no damage

· Housekeeping and 6S

The Person – Key Requirements

· Previous experience in similar role – warehousing

· Good interpersonal and communication skills – confident communicator in a variety of situations

· Previous supervisory experience and able to lead a small team

· Good planning, organising and problem solving skills

· Resilient with a flexible approach towards hours and workload

· Physical fitness is required as this is a physically demanding role with manual handling and heavy lifting involved

· Enthusiastic and results driven

· Basic computer skills

Previous experience of worktop manufacture and/or working within a fast paced and demanding manufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage but is not essential as all training will be provided.
