Sheridan Founded

Sheridan Founded

Sheridan began in a single lock-up unit in 1996 as an independent solid surface fabricator for small commercial projects.

Corian Quality Network

Corian Quality Network

Sheridan joins DuPont’s quality network as a certified Corian installer. This trusted status allowed the company to quickly expand, starting by occupying the three adjacent units.

Moved to Ouzlewell Green

Moved to Ouzlewell Green

By 1998 we had moved to a much larger facility, which enabled us to expand our production capacity and product range. Within a year we also purchased the adjacent premises, which became operational in 2000, increasing our total production area to 37,000sq/ft

Tebay Factory Acquired

Tebay Factory Acquired

In the year 2000 Sheridan Granite and Marble (SGM) was established with the acquisition of a Granite and Quartz factory in Tebay, Cumbria. This allowed us to manufacture our own stone worksurfaces rather than outsourcing. We still use SGM as shorthand to refer to the stone side of our business today.

Sheridan begins to supply surfaces to UK Kitchen retailer Magnet Kitchens.

In the early 00’s, we began sourcing quality alternative materials for the outfitting of laboratories and dental studios.

SGM expansion at Ouzlewell

SGM expansion at Ouzlewell

Our Ouzlewell Green facility was expanded further to accomodate the relocation of our Cumbrian division. Sheridan now operates again from one centralised location.

B&Q Supplier for Speedstone

Sheridan is chosen as the supply and installation partner for B&Q’s Speedstone range of bespoke products.

With sales growing and our production again reaching capacity, we moved again to New Sheridan House which would serve as our base of operation from 2005 until the present day.

Apollo Quartz first appears in our 2007 Retail Price List with a selection of 17 Colours.

Apollo Acrylic Doors

Sheridan began manufacturing Apollo Acrylic Doors, which would continue until being phased out in 2017.

Apollo Slab Technology

Apollo Slab Technology

Apollo Slab Tech makes it’s first appearance, as 30mm “Slab Technology”. By 2010 this would be shortened to Apollo Slab Tech, and in 2013 we would begin selling the range in 20mm in response to consumer demand.

Factory Expansion

Factory Expansion

£5 million investment made into New Sheridan House, increasing our factory to 130,000sq ft. Over 1500 wagon loads of materials were required to lay this significant expansion. This new outfitting included new CNC cutting machines and the UK’s first Breton Combi Cut.

Apollo Magna replaces Apollo Solid Surface as our affordable Corian alternative. This unique modular product featured an edged downturn on three sides, and today is among the most affordable solid surface materials available.

Apollo Urban

Apollo Urban colour-matched sinks are sold with Apollo Magna and Slab Tech worksurfaces. These best-of-both sinks combine the heat and impact resistant stainless steel bottoms found in most households, with the moulded fluidity that can only be achieved by solid surface fabrications.

The trade-facing arm of Travis Perkins (Wickes), Benchmarx began to stock Bespoke and Modular worksurfaces in 2015.

Sheridan joins BiKBBI as it’s first accredited nationwide worksurface installation team

Sheridan Fleet Development

Investment in delivery network, now FORS accredited. Today Sheridan fulfills all deliveries using it’s fleet of modern vehicles, operating nationwide through three regional distribution nodes.

Apollo Recycled Glass

The UK’s only commercially produced worksurface of its’ kind is released to retailers nationwide. This attractive new surface also appeared in a national TV advertisement from Wickes.

Sheridan begins to manufacture own-brand sintered stone worksurfaces with next-generation performance, which was featured at the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival in 2019.

In 2019 Sheridans ongoing capital investment added a new CNC Intermac and Breton Saw, improving lead times and capacity.

New roller system streamlines production, improves energy efficiency & minimises handling, by allowing raw materials from Goods In to be directly crane lifted into one of three parallel production lines.
