Technical Specifications
Introduction
Quicktops® products are manufactured using the highest quality quartz, granite or solid surface combined with the the latest manufacturing technology, allowing freedom of expression through colour, application and functionality.
Joints
Quicktops® joints are finished with a small ariss to the top edge. Silicone sealant is applied on granite and quartz worktops to prevent water ingression.
Thermal expansion
Due to thermal expansion Quicktops® can expand up to 1mm per metre. A gap of at least 3mm should be left at each end of the worktop when fitted and filled with decorators caulk. When Quicktops® is joined to other materials (such as glass, steel or wood) an elastic type of adhesive, for example polyurethane is required for expansion.
Overhangs and support
Any overhang extending more than 300mm must be supported.
Sink Hobs and Cut-outs
- A minimum of 200mm is required between two hob cutout.
- A minimum of 100mm is required between hob and sink cutouts.
- A minimum of 70mm is required between two sink cutouts.
- Sink cutouts are placed 90mm from the worktop front edge.

Scratches
Quicktops® worksurfaces are resistant to cracks, chips, scratches and stains. However, excessive force and or pressure from objects can damage the surface. Do not use your worktop as a cutting board as very sharp knifes could cause small scratches.
Staining
These can be easily cleaned away with a damp soft cloth and warm soapy water. For slightly more stubborn spills, non-abrasive household cleaners or stone detergent can work well. Items that may have become adhered to the worksurface can be removed by first scraping away excess material with a sharp blade or plastic scraper, followed by wiping with a damp cloth and a non abrasive cleaner to remove any residual marks.
Care should be taken to avoid harsh scratching and abrasive compounds, which could remove the sealer. If you have a matt surface, additional care will be required to maintain the surface. Metal marks, finger prints and other signs of daily living will show up more easily.
