Along with the site expansion, improvements to the reception area, showroom, offices, grounds and car parking will be made, creating a better working environment for Sheridan employees and enhancing the appearance of the local area.
Managing Director John Blackburn says, “The 75 000sq ft expansion program is well under way. £2 million has been invested into this project with £750K spent solely on state of the art fully automated machinery. The new site will create a working space that will help reduce lead times, boost productivity, increase storage and dispatch facilities. The new expansion will generate over 100 jobs during the next year with soaring demand for solid surface, timber, natural and engineered stone worktops. Sheridan anticipates an increased turnover in excess of £20 million in 2008.”
Further developments have been put in place to monitor our carbon footprints. New energy efficient lighting, heating and production lines have been installed in the factory, along with a new waste-recycling program. Digital templating will come into effect in 2008, this will cut down on MDF templating and delays.
